Eduard Čulka: When Sales, Operations, and real results for clients come together

In today’s recruitment environment, it is no longer enough to be “just a salesperson” or “just a consultant”. One of them is Eduard Čulka, who covers a role at Talent Solutions that sits between Sales and Operations.

Eduard’s work is built on connecting two worlds – business development and day-to-day operations. In practice, this means that he is not only focused on acquiring new clients and developing partnerships, but also actively cooperates with consultants on project delivery. As he says himself, it is not enough to close a partnership – the key is to deliver it with quality and develop it over the long term.

His working day starts early in the morning. He dedicates the first hours to planning, setting priorities, and administrative activities that require focus without distractions. Communication with clients comes later, with respect for their working schedule. During the day, he focuses on managing an extensive client portfolio, supporting the team – especially at the Žilina branch – and consulting on internal projects. An important part of his work is also building the Talent Solutions brand, whether through participation in professional events or active communication on LinkedIn.

One of his main priorities at the moment is business development in a challenging economic environment. The goal is to secure enough work opportunities for consultants while maintaining a high quality of service for clients. According to him, in such periods, it is not enough to do things in the standard way – it is necessary to go above and beyond and look for new approaches that bring real added value.

An important part of his work is also the ability to explain to clients the real impact of unfilled positions. Every month that a position remains vacant can cost a company approximately half to one and a half times the gross salary of the given employee. The reason is simple – there is no person in place to create value. That is why he approaches each project individually and helps set up solutions tailored precisely to the client’s needs. The result is a situation that benefits all parties – the client gains a high-quality employee, the candidate moves forward both professionally and financially, and Talent Solutions delivers a measurable result.

Eduard’s role naturally requires intensive collaboration across the entire organization. He connects sales teams, consultants, and specialists from different segments and locations. In practice, this means regular contact with most colleagues, while each project requires a different combination of expertise. According to him, this cooperation is one of the key factors of success.

At the same time, he points out that the public perception of recruitment is often distorted. People outside the industry do not always realize the real impact this work has. It is a model that benefits all parties, even if this may not always be obvious from the outside.

According to Eduard, patience, perseverance, and broad perspective are among the key qualities for success in this role. Client partnerships are not built overnight, and rejection is a natural part of the job. At the same time, it is necessary to continuously monitor the market, listen to colleagues and clients, and make the right decisions based on this information.

He is proud of his work mainly because of the team he works with. Despite a more challenging period, he believes they are able to keep moving forward and achieve high-quality results. His greatest motivation comes from situations where they manage to deliver a solution to a client exactly according to their expectations, followed by positive feedback not only from the client, but also from the candidate.

In conclusion, he also shares something more personal about himself. With a smile, he says he is a workaholic and that resting for more than a few days does not suit him. He needs to stay constantly active, whether at work or outside of it. He has found cooking to be a form of relaxation, where he enjoys improving and trying increasingly challenging recipes. Another interesting fact is his work stability – twelve years in one company and more than seven years at Talent Solutions, which is rather exceptional in today’s HR environment.
